Surf is a movement-based game mode in Counter-Strike where players glide across angled ramp surfaces — called surf ramps — using air strafing to maintain and build speed. Maps range from beginner-friendly linear courses to technical multi-stage runs with precise routing. The mode has its own timer system, global rankings, and a dedicated community that's been a staple of the CS scene since the early Source days.

## Rules

### Minor Offenses

- Spam is not allowed in any form (mic spam, chat spam, etc). Includes playing music, voice changers, any language other than English.
- Toxicity towards other players is not allowed. Banter is okay — know when to tone it down.
- Impersonation of other players is not allowed.
- Promotion of social media, Discord links, etc. is not allowed.
- Baiting someone to break the rules, or arguing about rules/punishments in-game is not allowed (make a ticket).
- Exploiting in any form is not allowed.
- No weird sexual behaviour.

### Major Offenses

- Discrimination (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia) and usage of any associated slurs are not allowed.
- Any targeted/continuous harassment of another player is not allowed.
- Any sexual harassment is not allowed.
- Any pedophilia-related jokes or comments are not allowed.
- Impersonating staff in any way is not allowed.
- Abuse towards staff members on the server, or accusations regarding misuse of permissions will not be tolerated. Use the proper channels to report it (ticket in the [#support](https://discord.gg/kzg) channel in Discord).
- Trying to abuse loopholes/get around rules, including saying words similar to banned slurs, will result in a punishment identical to that of the actual rule.

### Severe Offenses

All severe offenses carry **permanent** punishments.

- No DOXing.
- No DDoSing or DDoS threats.
- No pedophilic behaviour.
- No public pedophilia accusations — report it instead.
- Any form of cheating/hacking is not allowed.
- Being under the minimum age for a Steam account (13) will result in your ability to communicate on the servers being revoked.
- Advertising is not allowed (anything with financial incentive, cheats, or competing servers).
- Evading punishments is not allowed.
- Playing on someone else's account to boost them is not allowed.
- Having an alternate account and getting multiple top 10 completes on a map is not allowed.

### Punishment Escalation

| Severity | Escalation |
| --- | --- |
| **Minor** | 30 min → 1 hr → 2 hrs → 4 hrs → 6 hrs → 8 hrs → every additional minor infraction becomes a major infraction |
| **Major** | 12 hrs → 1 day → 3 days → 1 week → Permanent |
| **Severe** | Permanent |

#### !mrank Usage

## Premium Perks

CS2 features are currently more limited than CS:GO. Premium users get these perks on Surf servers:
